Astrophotography
Astrophotography is my absolute favorite way to use my camera. I first started in high school by taking star trails, and one night without realizing that I had my settings wrong, I took a really blurry, noisy picture of the milky way, and ever since then have spent a lot of time learning how to get better at this type of photography. Between gear, planning, editing, scouting locations, and everything else, there's so much that can go into these images and I love putting them together. A large reason I do it is because I want to try to motivate and inspire people to go out and see the stars with their own eyes, which is an experience that not too many people get now that light pollution blocks out any chance of seeing bright stars. While I love these pictures and am very proud of them, nothing beats being able to see the core of the milky way arching over your head with your own two eyes, so hopefully these images can help people see what they're missing out on.
